Day of departure..

I was first on the breakfast and I must admit, I ate a lot. A LOT.

Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to our colleagues form Chicago because they were staying in Dubrovnik for one more day, while we were moving on to Zadar with girls from Florida. But in Zadar, there was this awesome almighty tourist guide ever, ROKO! :D

My height and Salute to the Sun

Roko took us a little bit through Zadar, we saw Salute to the Sun and along the way to the beach we met Heather! We drank some coffee (weeee :D) and left our colleagues from Florida with professor Violeta in Zadar. Four of us "from" Varaždin, went back to our rainy, windy and cold city.

This way I would really like to thank University of Central Florida and De Paul University for this great adventure and opportunity for meeting you guys!
Also I'd like to thank Faculty of Organization and Informatics and University in Zagreb for this opportunity and experience as well!

On our fourth day we decided to visit old part of Dubrovnik. Students wanted to go on the walls, but I decided to stay down not facing the sun directly because if I went on the walls, in about fifteen minutes you'd have to call an ambulance to pick me u because of sin cancer or something like that. I'm just that pale. Anyways, Viktor and I wandered around Old City, we saw some neat churches, monuments, Stradun and an exhibition memorizing Dubrovnik's soldiers in Croatian war of Independence.

I have a friend in Dubrovnik, so I went to meet her, drink coffee, ate the best ice cream in the world, I also visited a monastery which is also a student's dorm. Around 5 o'clock we went do back to hotel. I really wanted some short break and a coffee ^_^

So that's what I did. I don't really like swimming in the sea, so I stayed at the hotel again and drank some coffee :D

Coffee time

At the evening, we decided to get dinner in some restaurant where we can also watch the game. I kinda predicted that Croatia is going to lose and that we're going home. (I was right :P)

I must say that during this whole trip I realized that caterers in Dalmatia have a bad training. Not because of their skills, but because of their manners and behavior. I'm really disappointed with that, because I went to Tourism and Economy high school where teachers always told us to smile and to behave properly. Never ever in any occasion is a caterer (waiter, cook receptionist) allowed to treat his guest badly. During the dinner, our waitress was in a bad mood, clearly annoyed and she was constantly rolling her eyes and not smiling. Also, when we wanted to split the bills at the end of dinner, she made such a big thing and a problem about it that the whole staff just went mad. And there was this couvert thing. What is that? I have never heard of it. Just, I don't know, really bad experience with that restaurant.

Anyways, caterers in Dalmatia need to go to school once more and repeat everything they were supposed to learn.

For those who don't know, last three weeks I spent on palenta-diet (not a diet actually, more like saving money because it's cheap and you an combine it with literally everything), so these few days I felt really sad for not eating my palenta. But then, surprise in the morning, for breakfast there was palenta!! <3

We ate our food really fast, got ready and moved to Dubrovnik! On our way there we stopped at Cetina river and enjoyed a little bit in Dalmatian songs and breathtaking nature. We continued to Dubrovnik, and again on the way we stopped to buy some fresh fruit. There, a problem happened in my head. I couldn't remember a name for *as-Google-says* cherries, because Google translates cherries and cherries into cherries if you know what i mean. Okay, it looks funny now, but in Croatian language there's difference between those two :D

On the way we also stopped at Neum (BiH) and for those who don't know, I'm a huge Herzegovina fan, so this stop for me was amazing. I drank some coffee (black as night and very strong - just the way I like it), while the rest of the crew had lunch and in an about hour we were ready to go to Dubrovnik.

In the bus, we discussed with USA students about education, math and cheating in USA. We came to conclusion that they are breaking whole math science in parts which are subjects on their own, and cheating in exams is very strict and forbidden and you can get expelled because of that. Maybe Croatians can look up to them.

When we arrived in Dubrovnik, we settled in Adriatic Hotel, students went to the beach and I stayed at hotel because sun was to strong for my pale skin :D The hotel is nice, with a great view on sea and mountains.

Later that evening we also had dinner with our Irena, and went to sleep so we can be rested for tomorrow's exploring of Dubrovnik.

Adios! :)

Day started with an awesome breakfast (plenty of various food) and laughing at Kevin because he tried to drink his milk out of martini glass :D

Then we went exploring Diolecletian cellars and it looks like we got there in the right time. There was an exhibition in the cellars of some modern art, so, all the time while we were exploring the cellars we kept running into statues in weird poses and we also found Tyrion Lannister (the guy from Game of Thrones).

After that, Dulce and I went to look for the beach Bačvice, so along the way we talked about her impressions about Croatia, discussed about our cultures and customs, and I did my best to represent Croatia to her in the best way possible by giving her information about government, economy, tourism, language and some random facts.

After our short trip to Bačvice, we decided to get back to hostel, to pick up the rest of the crew because they also wanted to go to Bačvice.

In the evening, Jesus and I went to look for menza (:D) somewhere in the town because that's a lot cheaper version of dinner. Menza was supposed to be on Faculty of architecture, so the only thing we had to do is to find that faculty. We talked on the way about USA, Mexico and educational system in USA in general.

Later that evening, we all gathered in front of hostel and share our impressions so far and got to know each other better. To sum up everything, it was a good day! :)
