After our experience in Split, we started our trip to Dubrovnik yesterday morning. We were mostly travelling on the Adriatic road, close to the sea to see all of beauties around us. Our first pause was near the city of Omiš, close to Cetina river in some restaurant to see the beauties of that river. After sea panorame before Ploče, we stopped close to the mandarine fields near Opuzen to buy some fruits in one of the stands. I was mostly impressed with figs, but our Americans were satisfated with nectarines and cherries. After few minutes, we entered in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina for our lunch in the only city of their coast - Neum. At the end, we finished our trip when we arrived in Dubrovnik around 3 p.m. and decided to fresh up with some swimming on the beach. The evening was spent in relaxed walking in our neighborhood.
Today was the day to see the old core of Dubrovnik, which is part of UNESCO's fortune. We saw the streets and building with so much spirit, but part of us were also walking through the walls, which were some kind of protection in the past. We also saw few of museums, like Museum of defenders from Homeland war, which was with consequences in Dubrovnik too, during 1991 and 1995. I really liked some of the small streets near the main of them - Stradun and the outside market with so many homemade fruit products, with so many homemade spices etc. Some of our group continued the sightseeing, but some of us, like me, came back to the hotel to do some faculty obligations. After the afternonn swimming, some of us went for a dinner and to find table(s) in some of the bars to watch the tonight's game between Croatia and Mexico for World cup.
Unfortunately, this is the last day in Dubrovnik, but it makes me happy that we will see the spirit of Zadar (my favourite city on the coast) before coming back in Varaždin. At the end, I recommend you to see the pictures from today's sightseeing, and many more, on Facebook with #FOIUNESCO2014
