What are your impressions about Croatia and Faculty of Organization and Informatics life?
What were your expectations, did you have any before arriving in Croatia? |
How did you find and how would you describe FOI students, how did the host you?
I cannot express it in words how WONDERFUL the FOI students have been with us. They are genuine, welcoming, hilarious, and down to earth. I was somewhat nervous about meeting the students but they could not have made us feel more comfortable. Thanks to Katarina, Robert, Ozano, Bobo (Bogdan), Tomislav, Benjamin, Sanjin, and Alen. We are truly grateful.
What did you learn about educational system in Croatia and are their similarities in the USA educational system or differences that you would like to highlight?
I learned the basics of the Croatian educational system and found it very closely resembles the American schools. I would love to implement the acquisition of more than one language as a policy for students. The addition of learning multiple languages would truly allow for American students to move away from ethnocentrism and could easily open doors to may study abroad opportunities that are available to us.
Would you like this exchange program between the UCF McNair Scholars Program to become a tradition and would you recommend it to your colleagues?
I would love for this affiliation to become a part of a tradition. For one thing, it would allow future McNair scholars to participate in such a wonderful opportunity like the one we have been lucky enough to experience. Furthermore, if this became a tradition, my five colleagues and I would be part of history for both UCF and FOI.
What is the McNair program and how does it help you as a student?
The McNair program is a wonderful program designed to assist students who otherwise would not have the opportunity or the resources to attend and successfully complete a post-baccalaureate education. The McNair program has helps me in more ways than words can express. It has helped me fulfill my potential and encouraged me to keep going and use my support system and McNair family to help me push through this journey I have yet to embark upon.
