What are your impressions about Croatia and Faculty of Organization and Informatics life?
What were your expectations, did you have any before arriving in Croatia? How did you find and how would you describe FOI students, how did the host you? |
I found the FOI students to be open minded, humorous, and very hospitable. They are willing to do so much for us to make sure that we enjoy ourselves. Also, the students are so impressive. Each one of them are extremely intelligent and such a vast knowledge of so many different topics.
What did you learn about educational system in Croatia and are their similarities in the USA educational system or differences that you would like to highlight?
The school levels are the same, which was unexpected, but having high school students pick a subject to focus on completely surprised me. In the U.S. college students change their majors so often that I don't feel that they would be able to make this decision at the high school level.
Would you like this exchange program between the UCF McNair Scholars Program to become a tradition and would you recommend it to your colleagues?
Absolutely!!!!! Varaždin is a place every American should visit. This place has changed my life. The values here are different but they make sense.
What is the McNair program and how does it help you as a student?
McNair helps students to learn about and produce research while helping to fund us and giving us all the advice we need to continue our education. McNair assists in building our character, awareness of our responsibilities, and our ability to be more than we could have believed. We may have not have had the opportunities to do the things we are currently doing without the support of the program. Our staff, Michael Aldarondo-Jeffries and Arlene Olliviere are great.
