How did you find and how would you describe FOI students, how did the host you?
The FOI students were amazing. They were more than friendly and embraced us with open arms. The students made me feel as family and played such a huge role in my overall experience during the trip.
What did you learn about educational system in Croatia and are their similarities in the USA educational system or differences that you would like to highlight?
I learned that the educational system in the U.S. is much different than the Croatian system. The biggest difference is how intricate the educational system is (especially the field of education).
Would you like this exchange program between the UCF McNair Scholars Program to become a tradition and would you recommend it to your colleagues?
Yes, the exchange program is an ideal chance for other students to immerse themselves in another culture. Being a student who has traveled abroad, I can truly appreciate the benefits that have surfaced as a participant of this trip.
What is the McNair program and how does it help you as a student?
McNair is a program that acts as a gateway program exposing many at risk students to various experiences and professional development opportunities. This program is a beacon of light for students dreamed of going to graduate school a reality. To me, this program means the world. The opportunities I have been afforded have made a overall better person and words cannot express my sincere gratitude.
